What Is C.P.W.D. ?

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) of India is a central government authority to build and maintain the public buildings under the Ministry of Urban Development India.

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD)is the principal agency of the Government of India. CPWD is responsible for creating assets and providing comprehensive services including planning, designing, construction and maintenance of office & residential buildings as well as other structures of various ministries and departments of Government of India and other autonomous bodies and public sector enterprises.

CPWD consists of three Execution fields:

  • Buildings and Roads (B&R),
  • Horticlture.

Who Can Enroll as a C.P.W.D. Contractor?

Any Indian Individual, Sole Proprietorship Firm, Partnership Firm, Limited Liability Partnership, Public Limited Company or a Private Limited Company may apply for enlistment as a contractor in CPWD. Under these Rules provided the eligibility criteria and other conditions are satisfied. The enlisted contractors have to abide by all the rules made herein and as amended from time to time during the currency of their enlistment.

B. Documents to be Kept Ready Before Filling New Application:

1. Proof of constitution
• In case of sole proprietorship: An affidavit executed before the Magistrate not below the rank of Executive Magistrate, that the applicant is the sole proprietor of the firm.
• In case of partnership firm: Certification of Registration, Partnership Deed.
• In case of Limited Liability Partnership: Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed.
• In case of Private/Public Limited Company: Certificate of Incorporation, Articles of Association.

2. Power of attorney or Board Resolution.

3. Self-attested copy of enlistment order, if any.

4. List of all near relatives working in CPWD.

5. List of completed works
• Completed works in Annexure-III Submit (Download Now)

6. Self-attested copies of award letters and final bill for completed works included in Annexure-III.

7. (a) Banker’s Certificate from Scheduled Bank in original Submit (Download Now)
or Net Worth Certificate in original.
(b) Average Annual Turnover Certificate on works during the last three financial years (Optional for III,IV,V for all categories).
